Organized as part of the International Antalya Film Festival, the Antalya Film Forum is a co-production and project development market established with the aim of expanding co-production opportunities primarily in Turkey, as well as in its neighboring territories and around the world, encouraging producers and directors to produce new films, and ensuring the recognition of their projects in the international film industry.

Who will select the projects to participate in the Fiction Pitching, Documentary Pitching and Work in Progress Platforms?
Projects to participate in all three platforms will be preselected by the Antalya Film Forum Advisory Committee.

APPLICATION AND AWARDS

Who can apply for the Fiction Pitching, Documentary Pitching and Work in Progress Platforms?
Feature film projects from Turkey that are in the development stage, with a minimum running time of 60 minutes, can apply for the Fiction Pitching and Documentary Pitching platforms.The Work in Progress platform is open to application for feature film projects from Turkey with a minimum running time of 60 minutes, which have completed at least 50% of their filming, or are in the post-production stage. Applications for all three platforms should be made by their producers on behalf of the production companies of the projects.

How can I apply for the Fiction Pitching, Documentary Pitching and Work in Progress Platforms?
Applications for all three platforms are accepted online. After reading the regulations, you can make your application at the Antalya Film Forum section of the International Antalya Film Festival website by filling in the relevant form.

Can I apply with multiple projects?
Yes.

Can I apply for the Fiction Pitching, Documentary Pitching or Work in Progress Platforms with my short film project?
No. All three platforms are only open to feature film projects.

Are animated and experimental film projects aimed at theatrical release eligible?
Yes. Creative animated and experimental feature film projects can apply for the Fiction Pitching Platform and the Work in Progress Platform.

I have previously applied for the Antalya Film Forum with a project, but was not selected. Can I apply again this year?
Yes.

Why are English translations of the application documents required?
As applying projects will be evaluated by an international advisory committee, and because the Antalya Film Forum is an international platform that will be hosting invitees from many countries, the documents have to be submitted in Turkish and English.

Do I have to send any documents by mail at the time of application?
No, all you have to do is fill out the online application form and upload the relevant documents. If you have films you would like to share, you can specify the links on the relevant fields on the online application form.

My project is set in Turkey, but as the producer, I am not a Turkish citizen. Is my project eligible?
The majority co-producer of applying projects must be a citizen of the Republic of Turkey.

What kinds of projects can apply for the Fiction Pitching and Documentary Pitching Platforms?
The Fiction Pitching Platform is open for applications from feature fiction, documentary and creative animated film projects with a minimum running time of 60 minutes. The new Documentary Pitching Platform is open to applications from creative feature documentary projects with a minimum running time of 60 minutes.

I am the producer / writer of the project, and a director has not yet been selected for the project. Can I apply for the Pitching Platform?
No. Projects applying for the Pitching Platform are required to specify their directors.

Can I submit my screenplay?
None of the three platforms require the submission of a screenplay. But as specified above, for the Fiction Pitching and Documentary Pitching Platforms, having a draft of your screenplay ready will help you have efficient meetings with film professionals at the Antalya Film forum.

What will I be expected to do in the case that my project is selected for the Fiction Pitching or Documentary Pitching platforms?
Producers of the selected projects for the Fiction Pitching and Documentary Pitching platforms are required to attend the plaforms. We recommend that directors also be present at the Forum for pitching. Producers and directors of projects selected for the Fiction Pitching and Documentary Pitching platforms will present their projects to accredited Forum guests and the jury on Thursday, 20 October 2016 and Friday, 21 October 2016 respectively.

What kinds of film projects can apply for the Work in Progress Platform?
The Work in Progress Platform is open to creative documentary, experimental and animated feature film projects with a minimum running time of 60 minutes.

My project has received post-production support from the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Can I apply for the Work in Progress Platform?
No. As specified in the regulations, your project is not eligible for the Work in Progress Platform.

Can I submit a DVD of my preliminary edit?
No. You should upload your edit to Vimeo and submit the link and password at the time of application.

What will I be expected to do in the case that my project is selected for the Work in Progress platform?
For screening at the Work in Progress Platform, a preliminary edit that provides a preview of the story and cinematography of the film, with a maximum duration of 10 minutes, consisting of a maximum of 3 scenes from the film, must be submitted by the producer to Antalya Film Forum in Blu-ray format. The edit must have English subtitles. The Antalya Film Forum will hold a preliminary meeting with the producer of the film prior to the production of this edit.

I have completed filming a small portion of my project. Can I apply for the Work in Progress Platform?
The Work in Progress Platform is open to projects that have completed at least 50% of their filming, or are at the post-production stage. Projects whose filming is underway at the time of application are required to have completed at least 50% of their filming by the starting day of the Antalya Film Forum on 19 October 2016.

I am the screenwriter of a selected project. Can I attend the Antalya Film Forum?
As the screenwriter, you can consult with your producer to be present at the Fiction or Documentary Pitching platform at the time of presentation.

When can I learn whether my project has been selected?
Once the Advisory Board has finalized the selection, the projects selected for the Fiction Pitching, Documentary Pitching and Work in Progress Platforms will be announced before the end of business hours on Monday, 19 September 2016.

When will the winners be announced?
The awarded projects will be announced at the Antalya Film Forum award ceremony, on Saturday, 22 October 2016. The winners will also be announced on our website and social media accounts.

What are the awards for the Fiction Pitching Platform?
Two projects to be selected by the Fiction Pitching Platform jury will be awarded a monetary prize of 30.000 TL per project and an award certificate.

What are the awards for the Documentary Pitching Platform?
Two projects to be selected by the Documentary Pitching Platform will be awarded a monetary prize of 30.000 TL per project and an award certificate.

What awards will be presented at the Work in Progress Platform?
The Work in Progress Platform will select the “Best project” out of the ten participating projects, whose production company will be awarded a monetary prize of 100,000 Turkish Liras and an award certificate.

To whom will the Fiction Pitching, Documentary Pitching and Work in Progress platform prizes be paid?
Monetary prizes are specified as net amounts. Prizes are paid to the production company that owns the project. The Work in Progress platform prize is paid in two instalments.

What is the Fiction Pitching Platform?
The Fiction Pitching Platform is the Antalya Film Forum’s development platform in which fiction, animated and experimental feature film projects will be presented to local and international film professionals.

What is the Documentary Pitching Platform?
The Documentary Pitching Platform is the Antalya Film Forum’s development platform in which documentary feature film projects will be presented to local and international film professionals.

What is the Work in Progress Platform?
The Work in Progress Platform is the Antalya Film Forum’s development platform in which fiction, documentary, experimental or animated feature film projects that are at the filming or post-production stage will be presented to local and international film professionals.

What is the Director’s Statement?
The Director’s Statement is a document written by the director, in which the director explains why they would like to direct the relevant project and how they will be filming it. The director is expected to present a summary of their outlook on their filming technique and style, the elements that make the project stand out, as well as point out other films that may provide a reference for their approach, if applicable. For the Antalya Film Forum, this document is expected to be no longer than 2,000 characters.

What is the Producer’s Statement?
The Producer’s Statement is a document written by the producer, in which the producer explains how the film will be produced from a producer’s point of view. The document is expected to include details on filming locations, actors, properties of departments such as post-production, the film crew, how the film will be marketed, sales and distribution strategy, target audience, and the path to be followed once filming has been completed. In more general terms, the producer’s statement presents an outline of how and towards what goals the project is being designed. The producer is also expected to explain why they believe in the project, and present details on their relationship with the producer.

What is the Treatment?
The treatment can be defined as the summarized form of the story of the film. The outlines of the story are presented in the treatment, including all scenes. The treatment is expected to be longer than the synopsis, and dialogue should not be used. For the Antalya Film Forum, this document is expected to be no longer than 10
