The official selection of the 54th International Antalya Film Festival, which has generated tremendous interest both nationally and internationally since the day it was announced, attracted a lot of attention from Antalya locals. Long lines were formed at the ticket booths the day tickets were up for sale.
The 54th International Antalya Film Festival, which will commence on October 21st, will bring together the masters of world cinema. World famous, award-winning directors whose films are in the festival’s official selection will meet with film lovers in Antalya.
The 54th International Antalya Film Festival is honoring the masters of Turkish Cinema. The festival which has been the focus of world cinema with its official selection, jury and events will give honorary awards to masters of Turkish Cinema such as Osman Sınav, Suzan Avcı, Necla Nazır and Erkan Aktaş.
Focus of world cinema with its official selection, the 54th International Antalya Film Festival continues to strengthen its “international brand identity” with a great jury comprised of world famous industry professionals. The jury head of the festival, which will be realized October 21-27th, is one of world cinema’s renown directors Palestinian Elia Suleiman while other jury members include world famous names such as Rebecca Lenkiewicz, Kjartan Sveinsson, Fadik Sevin Atasoy and Karim Ainouz.
“Antalya Film Forum”, which will be held for the fourth time this year within International Antalya Film Festival, became the focus of young filmmakers. Submissions have increased a great amount compared to last years because of the increase in support to filmmakers and the launch of new platforms. Young filmmakers showed a great amount of interest to the live Q&A session Zeynep Atakan organized at her social media accounts a few days back.
Antalya Film Forum, which takes place within the scope of the 54th International Antalya Film Festival and is directed by Zeynep Atakan, will take place between 22-26 October 2017. "Forum", which will be held fourth time this year, is going to host 200 local and foreign film professionals who are masters in their field, and support for Turkish productions will be increased.
