Rebecca Lenkiewicz is a playwright and screenwriter. She has written several plays for the National Theatre and was the first woman to have a play produced on their Olivier stage. Her plays include The Night Season, Her Naked Skin and The Painter. Rebecca co-wrote IDA with its director Pawel Pawlikowski which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Film and the European Film Award for Best Screenplay and Best Film. She co-wrote Disobedience with its director Sebastian Lelio; it has just premiered at Toronto Film Festival, starring Rachel Weisz who produced it. In development is a 7 hour drama with Steve McQueen for the BBC about the West Indian community in London in the 1970s. She has also written The Sea Change which Kristin Scott Thomas will star in and direct. She was a co-writer with the director Wash Westmoreland and the writer director Richard Glatzer on Colette which is in post-production.
