I am Not Supermarket

Veteran supermarket employee Saffet (32) lives in constant fear of losing his job as rumors circulate about an impending audit by the manager. The audit, aided by Mystery Shoppers, targets declining sales of the Supermarket. Saffet's paranoia grows as he perceives every customer as a potential threat. From innocent inquiries about the location of the cake capsule to requests for change, every interaction feels like a test. Saffet's colleagues around him also fuel this feeling. Overwhelmed by his mounting psychosis, Saffet spirals deeper into a whirlpool of anxiety and uncertainty.

Ekrem Ayhan Çakay

Born in 1994, Germany, he graduated from METU and ITU. He completed his directorship education in institutions such as Sinematek, Sinebir and Istanbul Film Academy in Turkey. He took part in the directing team of numerous short films. He achieved production support from the Turkish Ministry of Culture and IKSV platform Meetings on the Bridge. He graduated from the filmmaking program of Stockholm Film School in 2023 and was recently selected for Talents Sarajevo 2023.
