JURY MEMBERS ANNOUNCED FOR THE “NATIONAL SHORT FILM COMPETITION”
The jury members for the National Short Film Competition, part of Turkey's most established film festival, the Antalya International Golden Orange Film Festival, have been announced. The competition jury members are Ezgi Esma Kürklü Pervaz, İlkay Nişancı, and Vuslat Saraçoğlu.
The jury members for the National Short Film Competition, part of the 62nd International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, have been announced. The festival will take place from October 24 to November 2, 2025.
The preliminary selection committee for the National Short Film Competition, consisting of Prof. Senem Duruel Erkılıç, faculty member at the Department of Radio, Cinema, and Television at Mersin University's Faculty of Communication; Okan Arpaç, film writer and program manager for Digiturk Cinema Channels; and Ayşegül Selenga Taşkent, documentary filmmaker and academic, selected ‘Adako’, ‘Akşam Yemeği’, ‘Bimba’, ‘Defne’, ‘Eudaimonia’, ‘Giderayak’, ‘Kudret’, ‘Ölüm Bizi Ayırana Dek’, ‘Soğuk Beyaz’, and ‘Verdiğiniz Bilginin Doğruluğu İçin Teşekkür Ederiz’.
The Jury Members for the National Short Film Competition Have Been Announced
Screenwriter and translator Ezgi Esma Kürklü Pervaz, a member of the jury for the National Short Film Competition, graduated from Bilkent University's Department of Translation and Interpretation. Pervaz has acted in theatre, film, and television projects, written screenplays for films, series, and television programs, and translated books, plays, and subtitles.
Pervaz, who divides her time between Turkey and Germany, plays the character of Veterinarian Gamze in the film Aman Reis Duymasın, directed by Onur Tan, and the character of Maria in the movie Hakikat, directed by Hakan Alak. In short films, she appears in Yaşanmaz, directed by Osman Oğuz Öğün, and Sadakat, directed by İlker Çatak. James Younger's documentary also features her. It appears on television screens in the series Diriliş Ertuğrul, directed by Metin Günay.
He also wrote the screenplays for the series Heberler, directed by Alper Özyurtlu, and Sıla, directed by Gül Oğuz.
National Short Film Competition jury member İlkay Nişancı continues his academic career as an associate professor at Istanbul University's Faculty of Communication, Department of Cinema. In addition to his academic work, Nişancı has directed and edited numerous documentaries, feature films, music videos, commercials, and television programs in the fields of cinema and television. Nişancı, who has maintained close ties with music, has composed music for documentaries and short films since his student years. In his professional music career, he has released two albums with the heavy metal band ELA, where he serves as a lyricist, composer, and solo guitarist. The creator and director of the Eko Eko Eko documentary series, which consists of two seasons and 14 episodes broadcast on HBO Max, Nişancı also attracted attention with his latest film, Zamanın Kıyısında Sınav. The film won the “Best Documentary Film” award at the 31st Adana Golden Pomegranate Film Festival; at the 44th Istanbul Film Festival, it won the “Best Documentary Film,” “Best Music,” and “Best Editing” awards, making it the festival's most awarded film.
National Short Film Competition jury member Vuslat Saraçoğlu participated in the Sarajevo Talent Campus in 2010. Saraçoğlu acted as an actor and production coordinator in the feature-length fiction film Neden Tarkovsky Olamıyorum. Saraçoğlu's first feature film, Borç, was screened and competed at numerous international festivals. Domestically, it won several awards, including the Golden Tulip for Best Film at the 37th Istanbul Film Festival. Saraçoğlu's second feature film, Bildiğin Gibi Değil, won the awards for “Best Editing,” “Best Screenplay,” “Special Jury Prize,” and “Best Actor” at the 43rd Istanbul Film Festival. Saraçoğlu's first collection of short stories, titled Her Şey Geçer, was published in 2024 by Page 6 Publications under the umbrella of İnkılap Publishing House. Vuslat Saraçoğlu continues to work on new projects.
The awards for the 62nd International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival will be announced at the awards ceremony on Saturday, November 1, 2025.
