MASTERS OF TURKISH CINEMA FILM-YÖN JURY
The 62nd International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival FILM-YÖN Jury consists of Nazif Tunç, Seçkin Yaşar, and Serdar Akar. The 62nd International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival will take place between October 24 and November 2, 2025. This year, Nazif Tunç, Seçkin Yaşar, and Serdar Akar will serve on the Film Directors Association (FİLM-YÖN) Jury.
Nazif Tunç, who began his career as a film critic, took the director's chair in 1992 with “Kurdoğlu - Bu Yola Baş Koyduk”. After founding Halk Film in 2000 and directing nearly 100 television films and series, he returned to cinema with the movie “Karınca” and “Altın Buzağı.” Tunç, who teaches at the Department of Cinema and Television at Marmara University's Faculty of Communication, has served on advisory and selection committees at national film festivals and on the Ministry of Culture's Film Support Committees. Tunç is a member and vice president of the Film Producers Association (FİYAB) Board of Directors, as well as president of the International Cinema Association, which organises the Korkut Ata Turkish World Film Festival.
After graduating from the Graphic Arts Department of the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts, Seçkin Yaşar entered the art world by conducting interviews on culture and art. She managed the art page of Politika newspaper and was involved in organising the 1978 Antalya Film Festival and the Balkan Film Festival. She began her journey by assisting Halit Refiğ on the classic series “Yorgun Savaşçı”, directed by Refiğ. Alongside Refiğ, she worked with masters such as Atıf Yılmaz, Memduh Ün, and Ömer Kavur. Her first feature film as director, “Sarı Tebessüm,” was the third most-watched Turkish film during the 1993-1994 season. Her second film, “Sevgilim İstanbul,” was awarded “Best Film” at the New Delhi Film Festival.
In 1990, while studying at the Cinema-TV Department of Mimar Sinan University, Serdar Akar entered the industry as an assistant director on the film “Med-Cezir Manzaraları” directed by Mahinur Ergun. Between 1994 and 1997, he produced numerous television series.
In 1998, he wrote the screenplays for two films with intertwined cross-over plots, “Gemide” and “Laleli'de Bir Azize.” He also directed “Gemide.” In 2000, he wrote and directed” Dar Alanda Kısa Paslaşmalar.” In 2001, he directed the film “Maruf.” In 2005, he directed “Kurtlar Vadisi Irak”, his first film based on someone else's screenplay. In 2006, he founded the Filmakar production company and made the film “Barda.” A year later, he started the series “Elveda Rumeli” with Adam Film, which he founded with Tarkan Karlıdağ. He took on the role of supervisor for the play “Albay Kuş” with Tiyatrodam, which was brought to life under Adam Film. In 2009, the film “Gecenin Kanatları ”, starring Beren Saat and Erkan Petekkaya, was released. Between 2010 and 2011, he directed the TV series “Behzat Ç. Bir Ankara Polisiyesi" and the feature films “Behzat Ç. Seni Kalbime Gömdüm” and “Behzat Ç. Ankara Yanıyor” Akar, who has directed the series “İnadına Yaşamak” and ‘Cinayet’ in recent years, took charge of the film “Çanakkale: Yolun Sonu” in 2013, alongside Kemal Uzun.
