The Final Declaration Will Be Announced At The Closing Meeting Of The Golden Orange Cinema Workshop
The closing meeting of the “Cinema Workshop” within the scope of the 61st International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival will take place tomorrow at 11:00 at Su Hotel with the participation of scriptwriters, directors, producers, academicians, professional organizations and ministry representatives. In the closing meeting where the workshop organizing committee chair Assoc. Prof. Dr. Perihan Taş Öz and Aydın Sayman will also be speakers, the final report containing the common views and evaluations of the participants within the scope of 9 different work focuses realized during the workshop will be read by the valuable actor of Turkish Cinema Mehmet Aslantuğ.
The final reports of the workshop will be shared with the relevant institutions in digital and printed copies. In this way, the workshop aims to help institutionalize cinema in Turkey, solve problems in the sector and strengthen relations between the sector and the academy.
The Second Day of the Workshop Has Also Been Completed
The first sessions on the second day of the workshop addressed the following topics: “Working Conditions in the Film Sector in Turkey”, “Changing Viewing Culture in Cinema”, and “Cinema Broadcasting in Turkey”.
The moderator of the session titled “Working Conditions in the Film Sector in Turkey” was attorney Derya Yaman. The session addressed the rights granted by labor laws in the film sector, implementation problems and solutions, gender equality in the film sector, and what can be done in the context of union rights in the film sector. The participants of the session were; Ahmet Edebali/ FİYAB, Damla Kırkalı/ Cinema and Television Union, Emre Yetim/ Actors Union, Galip Görür/ Cinema Workers Union (SINE-SEN), İbrahim Onur Akçınar- Vehbi Cankat Güneş/ Ministry of Labor, İlker Barış/ SENARİSTBİR and Ufuk Demirbilek/ Cinema and Television Union
Prof. Dr. The “Changing Culture of Cinema” session moderated by Hasan Akbulut was attended by Prof. Dr. Ayşe Nilüfer Narlı from Bahçeşehir University, Cenk Sezgin on behalf of Cinemarine movie chain, CJ ENM Media General Manager Ferhat Aslan, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hakan Erkılıç from Mersin University and Assoc. Prof. Dr. İpek Azime Çelik Rappas from Koç University. The session discussed the changes in movie watching culture from movie theaters to digital platforms, from film to digital, as well as the classification and screening of movies in Turkey. The third session of the day was moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Meliha Elif Demoğlu from Marmara University and addressed “Cinema Broadcasting in Turkey”. The participants were Prof. Dr. Ali Karadoğan from Munzur University, cinema critic Barış Saydam, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fırat Sayıcı/ Cinema Writers Association (SİYAD), Prof. Dr. Semire Ruken Öztürk/ SİNECINE Cinema Research Journal, Ankara University, Serkan Öztürk/ ES Publications and Tuncer Çetinkaya/ Modern Times Magazine. In the session, the focus and themes of printed/digital cinema magazines and cinema books in Turkey were evaluated, and the roadmap to be followed for the development of cinema publishing in Turkey was discussed.
In the sessions of the workshop starting at 14:30, evaluations were made on the titles of “Production Conditions, Crises and Solutions in the Film Sector”, “Cinema and Cultural Heritage”, “Short Film and Documentary Cinema in Turkey from Production to Screening”.
In the session titled “Production Conditions, Crises and Solutions in the Film Sector” moderated by Özgür Balcı; the financing problem of independent cinema films, methods to increase institutional support opportunities for cinema films, and the problems and solutions experienced in the 20-year SGM support application were discussed. The participants of the session; Ahmet Hızarcı, Ayhan Sonyürek/ SENARİSTBİR, Mehmet Güleryüz/ SETEM, Nida Yılmaz/ Union of Turkish Municipalities, Serkan Acar/ Film Cooperative (FİLMKOOP) and Tunç Davut/ SEF.
The “Cinema and Cultural Heritage in Turkey” session moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aydın Çam from Çukurova University was attended by; Prof. Dr. Asiye Korkmaz from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Prof. Dr. Aydan Özsoy from Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University, Biket İlhan / Film Directors Association (FİLM-YÖN), Nil Gürpınar / Turkish Cinema Work Owners Association (SE-SAM) and Prof. Dr. Okan Ormanlı from Istanbul Kültür University. The session evaluated the film archive problem in Turkey and cultural heritage.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. The last session titled “Short Film and Documentary Cinema in Turkey from Production to Screening” was moderated by Hakan Aytekin and was attended by Prof. Dr. Aytekin Can from Selçuk University, Prof. Dr. Meral Özçınar from Manisa Celal Bayar University, Director Musa Ak, Okan Batur on behalf of the Short Film Directors Association and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sırrı Sertar Serter from Anadolu University. The session evaluated the fundamental problems experienced in the production of short and documentary films in Turkey.
