The Films In The National Competition Of Golden Orange Have Been Announced

The films that will compete for the “Golden Orange” in the National Feature Film Competition and Short and Documentary Film competitions of the International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival have been announced.

While 12 films will be competing in the National Feature Film Competition of the International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, which will be held between October 5-12 this year, 10 films will compete in the Short Film Competition and 8 films will compete in the Documentary Competition this year.

12 Films Will Compete for the "Golden Orange" in the National Feature Film Competition!

Head of the Department of Cinema and TV at Bahçeşehir University in Istanbul, Prof. Dr. Nilay Ulusoy, who has been conducting research at the National Center for Cinematography and Moving Image (CNC) in Paris with a scholarship from the French Institute in Istanbul; Seçil Tanel, who started her career with local films at the TV channel Kanal D and worked in different departments, and who prepared the local content of this platform for broadcast for many years with the title of responsible director after taking office at the establishment of D Smart Digital Platform in 2006; and Tunca Arslan, who is a cinema writer, film critic, journalist and author and a member of SİYAD, formed the pre-selection committee of the National Feature Film Competition, which includes a wide range of different cinema cultures and includes a wide range of diversity.

The films that will be presented to the main jury, chaired by director, screenwriter and author Ferzan Özpetek, and consisting of designer and art director Deniz Göktürk Kobanbay, actress Gökçe Bahadır, actor İlker Kaleli, Kadir Has University faculty member and film critic Assoc. A total of 18 films are included in the Short Film and Documentary Competitions at the Golden Orange!

This year, 10 films will compete in the Short Film Competition and 8 in the Documentary Competition in the National Short and Documentary Film Competitions created by Prof. Dr. Emine Uçar İlbuğa, a faculty member in the Radio, Television and Cinema Department of the Faculty of Communication of Akdeniz University, who conducts her academic studies in the fields of cinema and migration, social change and cinema, changing/transforming movie theaters and viewing experiences, and who writes about cinema in the BirGün Newspaper Sunday Supplement; Meral Özçınar, who is the head of the Radio, TV and Cinema Department of Manisa Celal Bayar University, who continues her consultancy work at İzmir Economics/Children's University, and who is the Documentary Workshop coordinator in the NAR project carried out with the support of the Human Rights Program of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands; and Özge Özyılmaz, a faculty member in the Radio, Television and Cinema Department of İstanbul Kent University, a researcher in the history of cinema, and a member of SİAMER.

Screenwriter, actor and director Derya Durmaz; director Erdem Tepegöz; The National Short Film Competition, where the main jury will be hosted by actress Pınar Göktaş, includes the films ‘Crying is Free, Laughter is Forbidden’ by Oğuzhan Akalın, ‘Such Things Do Not Happen in the World’ by Ali Emre Ceylan, ‘Dreams, Hopes and Circling Dolphins’ by Adil Burak Aydın, ‘Wolves’ directed by Begüm Bayrak, ‘Mükemmel’ directed by Ece Dizdar, ‘Almost Definitely Wrong’ directed by Cansu Baydar, ‘Guide’ directed by Mert Erez, ‘A Person Realizing That He Is in a Dream’ by Baturay Tunçat, ‘Like a Fly’ by Hazal Beril Çam and ‘Soup for Chicken Broth’ directed by Deniz Büyükkırlı.

The National Documentary Film Competition, whose jury includes journalist and documentarian Ahmet Yeşiltepe, director Jale İncekol, and director and producer academic Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nurdan Tümbek Tekeoğlu, includes the following films this year: 'Altın Eller' directed by Sevgi Hirschhaeuser, 'Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu Toprağın Sırrına Erenler' directed by Ali Kemal Pasiner, 'Bir Orkestranın İzinde' directed by Musa Ak and Hasan Basri Özdemir, 'Fatoş' directed by İlcan Edgar Özuluca, 'Kadranı Olmayan Saat' directed by Fatma Karakuş Kaçmaz, 'Kilikya'ya Yolculuk: Fejes'in İzinde' directed by Zehra Yiğit, 'Suyun Hakkı' directed by Onur Mehame, and 'Türkan: Bir Bilim Kadınının Hikayesi' directed by Gülay Ayyıldız Yiğitcan.

The awards at the International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, where a total of 5 million TL in awards will be given this year, will be announced at the closing ceremony to be held on October 12, 2024.
