Hasan, a former police officer, works in a cheap hotel in the back streets of the Historic Peninsula where the homeless and immigrant women stay… His sole purpose is to clear his name in court, to return to his lost job, but his income is not enough to hire a lawyer. Hasan resists and tries to find a loan in order not to sink into more crime and darkness. He has no friends other than Iliona, a hotel resident in her 50s. Together they dream that everything will get better. However, life gets harder for them every day. As Hasan tracks down his ex-police friend Yahya, whom he thinks betrayed him, we feel that desperation is pushing him into a corner. Containing realistic observations from the lives of those at the bottom, The Cage stands out with its mismatched main character, Hasan, who struggles to fight his inner anger while trying to save himself.
