International Antalya Golden Orange Festival Cinema Workshop's Topic Focuses Announced

The International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, which will be held between October 5-12, will discuss cinema from A to Z with all stakeholders of the sector at the “Cinema Workshop”.

The International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival brings together professional organizations, associations, unions and cinema academics to contribute to the solution of current problems of cinema. Participants who will meet at the “Cinema Workshop” within the scope of the festival will discuss the current problems of cinema in Turkey under different headings.

The Cinema Workshop, which will take place on October 10 - 12 as part of the festival, will discuss the main problems related to the creation, production and distribution process of motion pictures in nine sessions. Working groups consisting of academics and professionals, as well as representatives of associations, foundations, professional unions, trade unions and relevant state institutions, will evaluate the relevant topics in the sessions, each of which will last three hours, and sign the final declarations. In addition to the sessions, the workshop will also include two panel discussions: Copyrights, copying fees, conditions on film and TV series sets, state subsidies, overcoming production problems, academic and vocational education problems, film festivals, movie theaters, viewing culture in cinema, basic problems in the production and screening process of documentary cinema, problems in film distribution, classification and age decisions, cultural heritage and archiving in cinema.

Starting on October 10 with the opening reception at 13.00 and ending on October 12 with the reading of the final declarations, the final declarations of the workshop will be shared with the relevant institutions in digital and hard copy. In this way, the workshop aims to help institutionalize cinema in Turkey, solve the problems in the sector and strengthen the relations between the sector and academia.

The Organizing Committee of the workshop is chaired and led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Perihan Taş Öz, Head of the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema at Istanbul Kültür University, and Aydın Sayman, Secretary General of TÜRSAV, member of the SE-YAP Board of Honor, member of the Board of Directors of Sine-bir, screenwriter and director.
