Back for the 57th year from October 3-10 2020, the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival continues to support filmmakers of the future. The Golden Orange Film School, inaugurated last year with 150 students attending, is now accepting submissions for this year. The second edition of the Golden Orange Film School will be held online from October 4-9.
The Golden Orange Film School is the young people’s sidebar of the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, a long-running event for film lovers hosted by the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality. The School aims to support and inspire filmmakers of the future in achieving their dreams. This year, 200 students enrolled on Radio, Television, Film, Media, Communications and Visual Arts courses at universities in Turkey will be selected for the Golden Orange Film School. Every morning, selected students will be given specially tailored online classes in which leading names from the film industry will share their experiences live.
However, the Festival is also mindful of those film enthusiasts who don’t get to attend the Golden Orange Film School. Through a series of open-source Q&A and interview videos broadcast online, the Festival aims to reach out to audiences all over Turkey. The videos will be available for viewing on the Festival’s social media accounts.
The Golden Orange Film School launched under the banner, “The young will create, Antalya will flourish with the young”, a slogan coined last year by Muhittin Böcek, the Mayor of Antalya. The final deadline for submissions to the Golden Orange Film School is Friday, September 11. Film students can access the application form via the Festival website.
