Hosted by the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality with the support of the Turkish Ministry of Culture & Tourism, the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival continues to support filmmakers of the future in its 58th edition, which is due to run from October 2-9, 2021. The Golden Orange Film School was inaugurated in 2019 with an initial intake of 150 students and last year brought together 250students with industry professionals in a pandemic-safe online environment. Submissions have now opened for the third Golden Orange Film School, which will again take place online between October 3-8, 2021.
In a written statement, the Mayor of Antalya, Muhittin Böcek, cited the slogan used to launch the Antalya Film School — “The young will create, Antalya will flourish with the young.” He then went on to note: “This year will see the selection of another 250 students enrolled on Radio, Television, Film, Media, Communications and Visual Arts courses at universities within Turkey. The Golden Orange Film School sets out to support and inspire filmmakers of the future in realizing their dreams; and at this year’s event, leading figures in the industry will once again be sharing their experience with our students.”
However, the Festival is also mindful of cinephiles who miss out on attending the Golden Orange Film School. Through a series of open-source Q&A and interview videos broadcast online, the Festival aims to reach out to film fans all over Turkey. The videos will be available for viewing on the Festival’s social media accounts.
The deadline for submissions to the Golden Orange Film School is Monday, September 13, 2021. Film students can access the submission form through the Festival website.
The 58th Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival is chaired by Mayor of Antalya, Muhittin Böcek, and executive directed by Cansel Tuncer. Ahmet Boyacıoğlu takes on the role of Festival director and Başak Emre of artistic director.
