The projects to participate in the Antalya Film Forum, Features and Documentaries Work In Progress Platforms as well as Series/Short Series Pitching Platform have been announced!

Antalya Film Forum, the coproduction lab and project development platform of Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, is celebrating its eighth year. The 58th edition of Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, which will take place between October 2-9 is organized with the support of the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Culture and Tourism and hosted by the Metropolitan Municipality of Antalya. This year Antalya Film Forum will take place online between October 4-6. The projects selected to participate in the Features Work In Progress, Documentaries Work In Progress, and Series/Short Series Pitching Platforms of the Forum have been recently announced.

In a written announcement, the Mayor of Metropolitan Municipality Muhittin Böcek announced the following. “Within the scope of 58th Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival’s Antalya Film Forum section, which aims to promote the development of film industry in Turkey and which welcomes projects with a Turkish main producer or co-producer, Features Work In Progress Platform will feature an award of TL80 thousand and a smaller award of TL40thousand. Documentaries Work In Progress, on the other hand, will feature TL60 thousand support to be awarded to two projects. Series/Short Series Pitching Platform award will be given by BluTV.”

Antalya Film Forum gives funding and networking support to new projects under the umbrella of Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival. This year, a total of 16 projects applied to participate in the Features Work In Progress Platform. The selection committee comprised of the director Ceylan Özgün Özçelik, the director of Thessaloniki Film Festival’s Balkan Survey Section Dimitris Kerkinos and the sales acquisitions manager of Alpha Violet Keiko Funato. The committee selected five finalists. 

The projects are as follows: “Tulliana” produced by Alara Hamamcıoğlu, Sinan Kesova and Arda Çiltepe, and directed by Orçun Köksal; “To Carnations A Song” produced by Halil Kardaş, directed by Bekir Bülbül; “Klondike”, produced by Mehmet Bahadır Er, Sviatoslav Bulakovskyi and Maryna Er Gorbach, directed by Maryna Er Gorbach; “Between Dog and Wolf” produced and directed by Evren Yıldırım and Murat Düzgünoğlu, directed by Murat Düzgünoğlu; and “Suna” produced by Betül Sezgin, Giovanna Ribes and Christo Bakalov, directed by Çiğdem Sezgin

Features Work In Progress Jury will award two projects a total amount of TL120thousand. Other awards in this section are Başka Sinema Distribution and Promotion Award, and Creative Productions Colour Correction Award.

These are the five finalists for Documentaries Work In Progress Platform!

This year a total of 22 projects applied for the Documentaries Work In Progress Platform. The selection committee consisted of Martichka Bozhilova – the producer of Golden Bear winning Touch Me Not, among others, and the director of Balkan Documentary Centre; Olivier Tournoud from Cinephil, the sales and distribution representative of worldwide-renowned documentary titles; and director, producer, and consultant Zeynep Güzel. The committee selected five titles to compete in the platform. 

The finalists are as follows: “A Day, 365 Hours” directed by Eylem Kaftan, and co-produced with Lynette Fortune; “A Piece of Home” directed and produced by Mümin Barış; “What’s the Name of the Film?” directed and produced by Pınar Fontini; “Horde” directed and co-produced by Gürcan Keltek with Marc van Goethem and Arda Çiltepe; and “Road to Tokyo” directed by Efe Öztezdoğan and İpek Kent, produced by Aslıhan Altuğ and Haluk Koçak.

Documentaries Work In Progress section features documentary projects whose filming has been completed or which is in post-production stage. The main jury will award two projects a total of TL60thousand. One project will be awarded Sound Post Production by Postbıyık Post Production, one project will receive Film Standards Colour Correction Award, and one Başka Sinema Distribution Award.

These are the finalists of Series/Short Series Pitching Platform!

This platform was launched last year to address the increasing importance and role of television series in the industry. This year, a total of 21 projects have applied for the platform and 5 have been selected. 

The selection committee consisted of award-winning film and series producer C. Aslı Filiz, the former director of ARTE and ZDF film departments and producer Meinholf Zurhorst, and BluTV content sales representative Şehnaz Uğur. The committee selected the following titles to be considered in this platform.

The finalists are as follows: “Bar Scene” created and directed by İsmail Özgür Balamir, produced by Can Aygör; “Barbar” created and produced by Sedat Tanrıkolu, directed by Salih Toprak; “Earthlings” co-created by Aslıhan Altuğ, Büke Akşehirli and Yiğit Hepsev, co-produced by Aslıhan Aktuğ and Büke Akşehirli, directed by Yiğit Hepsev; “The Threshold”, created by Ali Ufuk, directed by Ceren Arslan, and produced by Rıfat Erkek; and “Committee of Bad Decisions”, co-created and co-directed by Ahmet İlker Coşkun and Deniz Bayraktaroğlu, and produced by Hazal Özeren.

This year the jury will award one project competing within the Series/Mini-Series Pitching Platform TL35thousand support by BluTV. One project will be awarded Colour Correction Award by Colour Up and one project will receive Presentation File Design Award by Daire Creative

The award-winners of Antalya Film Forum will be announced on 6 October! 

Antalya Film Forum is directed by Müge Özen and Pınar Evrenosoğlu. The international consultants are Katriel Schory, Kristina Trapp and Simone Baumann.

The winners of Antalya Film Forum's Feature-Length Fiction Pitching Platform will be announced in the coming days along with the jury members of each platform and the finalists of Sümer Tilmaç Antalya Film Support Fund, which aims to transform Antalya into a film production set.

The 58th Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival is headed by the Mayor of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Muhittin Böcek. The administrative director of the festival is Cansel Tuncer, the director Ahmet Boyacıoğlu, and artistic director Başak Emre.
