Final Days for Antalya Film Forum Submissions!

Submissions to the Antalya Film Forum will close in just a matter of days. Running from October 2-6, 2022, the Forum is the industry side-bar of the 59th Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, an event hosted by the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality with the support of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

In a written statement, Mayor of Antalya Muhittin Böcek said that submissions continue to be accepted through the Festival website. He went on to underline the importance of the Antalya Film Forum for the Municipality in terms not only of providing finance and building networks for filmmakers at the production stage, but also of supporting productions that will be representing Turkey internationally in the coming years.

Submissions close on Friday, August 5, 2022 for the Pitching for Feature Films in Development Platform, which offers funding to fiction films at the project stage, and the SümerTilmaç Antalya Film Fund Pitching Platform, which supports a single feature film planning to shoot in the city of Antalya. For the Features Work in Progress Platform, which provides projects already in production with financial and networking support, and the Documentaries Work in Progress Platform, which supports documentary projects in the late stages of shooting or postproduction, the final submission deadline is Monday, August 8, 2022.

As to the Series / Short Series Pitching Platform, submissions will be accepted up until Thursday, August 11, 2022. Launched two years ago, this Platform sets out to introduce new talent to the growing international series sector, to provide projects with national and international support and in so doing to contribute to the development of original and creative content. Submissions can be accessed through the Festival website and this link will remain open until the deadlines specified above.

Antalya Film Forum Awards

Two of the projects shortlisted for the Pitching for Feature Films in Development Platform will be chosen by the Jury to receive the Antalya Film ForumPitching for Feature Films in Development Platform Award, worth TL 40 thousand each. Additionally, one project at the Pitching for Feature Films in Development Platform will be awarded the Film Standartları Post-Production Award, while one project will be given Filmarka Equipment Support.

Moving on to the Features Work in Progress Platform, one project stands to win the TL 80 thousand Features Work in Progress Platform Award. At the same time, the state broadcaster, TRT (Turkish Radio and Television), will be presenting the TRT Features Work in Progress Award, again worth TL  80 thousand. Additionally, one project on the platform will be awarded the TL 40 thousand Special Jury Prize. Also up for grabs in this section is the Başka Sinema Distribution and Promotion Award.

Turning to the Documentaries Work in Progress Platform, the Jury will present two projects with the Documentaries Work in Progress Platform Award, worth TL 40 thousand apiece. Further prizes in this section include the Başka Sinema Distribution Award, the Postbıyık Post-Production Sound Award and the Film Standartları Color Correction Award, as well as the Documentary Association of Europe (DAE) Incentive Award

The top prize of this year’s Series / Short Series Pitching Platform comes courtesy of Netflix Turkey. The award, which comprises free accreditation to the Netflix Turkey Series Project Development Workshop, as well as TL 100 thousand in cash funding, is part of Grow Creative, a program run by Netflix to expand and develop the film and series industry’s talent pool. One of the projects shortlisted for the Series / Short Series Pitching Platform will also be recognized with the Color Up Color Correction Award.

Lastly, the final deadline for entries to the Sümer Tilmaç Antalya Film Support Fund Pitching Platform, which provides support to one film planning to shoot in Antalya, is Friday, August 5, 2022. The winning project will be awarded TL 150 thousand in cash funding together with the Fono Film Post-Production Award

This year’s edition of the Antalya Film Forum will take place in Antalya from October 2-4, 2022, and online from October 4-6, 2022

The 59th Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival is chaired by the Mayor of Antalya, Muhittin Böcek, and executive directed by Cansel Tuncer, while Ahmet Boyacıoğlu takes on the role of Festival director and Başak Emre of artistic director. The Antalya Film Forum is co-directed by Armağan Lale and Pınar Evrenosoğlu.
