A list has been announced of the projects selected to pitch in two categories of the Antalya Film Forum, the co-production market and project development platform of the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival. In its 59th edition this year, the Festival will be hosted by the Mayor of Antalya, Muhittin Böcek, from October 1-8 with the support of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
A pivotal space and source of funding for filmmakers to develop their projects, the Antalya Film Forum will take place physically in Antalya from October 2-4, and online from October 4-6, 2022. This year, the Pitching for Feature Films in Development Platform will see nine projects presented and the Sümer Tilmaç Antalya Film Support Fund Pitching Platform three projects.
Nine Projects to Compete at Pitching for Feature Films in Development Platform!
The Pitching for Feature Films in Development Platform received a record 76 submissions this year. The nine projects shortlisted from these entries were chosen by a preselection committee comprising Bernd Buder, Program Director of the Cottbus Film Festival, scriptwriter, director and producer Senem Tüzen, and producer Vildan Erşen.
After a long pandemic-induced interval, the selected projects will this year get to pitch at the Antalya Film Forum in person. The shortlist is as follows: 8th Floor (8. Kat), directed by Tunç Şahin with Aslı Filiz and Ersan Çongar producing; Moonstone (Aytaşı), directed by Safet Ayhan with Enes Erkan and Pelin Toksal producing; Cemile, directed by Nazife Ebru Güney and produced by Neval Turhallı; The Moth (Güve), directed by Aslı Akdağ and produced by Bilal Bağcı; Hasan, directed by Hasan Serin with Önder Önsal producing; The Ballad of the Skeleton (İskeletin Türküsü), directed by Murat Uğurlu and produced by Büke Akşehirli; Knight Rider 3 (Kara Şimşek 3), directed by Ziya Demirel with Anna Maria Aslanoğlu producing; Horseshoe and Nail (Nal ile Mıh), directed by Korhan Uğur and produced by Serpil Altın; and lastly Nazire, directed by Ragıp Türk with Seçkin Akyıldız producing.
The jury for the Pitching for Feature Films in Development Platform will be announced in the coming days. Based on the decision of its members, two projects will be presented with Antalya Film Forum Pitching for Feature Films in Development Platform Awards, each worth TL 40 thousand. Additionally, one project at the Pitching for Feature Films in Development Platform will be awarded the Film Standartları Post-Production Award, and one project will also be given Filmarka Equipment Support.
Three Projects Selected for Sümer Tilmaç Antalya Film Support Fund Platform!
Candidates presenting their projects at the Sümer Tilmaç Antalya Film Support Fund Pitching Platform have also been unveiled. This platform was launched by the Antalya Film Forum to support a single feature film on the condition that at least half of the project is shot in the city of Antalya, and at least two thirds of the final cut includes footage of Antalya. A preselection committee made up of producer Beste Yamalıoğlu, director Emre Kayiş and scriptwriter, author and dramaturge Yeşim Gökçe shortlisted three projects from the seven entries.
The three projects competing for TL 150 thousand of prize money are: Pine Cone (Kozalak), written by Tülin Kurnaz with Serhat Gönen producing and directing; Rabid (Kuduz), written and directed by Abdurrahman Öner with Arzu Şenses Öner producing; and Alone (Tek Başına), written and directed by Aziz Alaca with Fuat Salman producing. The winning project will also be presented with the Fono Film Post-Production Award.
Projects selected for the Features Work in Progress, Documentaries Work in Progress and Series / Short Series Platforms will be announced in the coming days. Winners of the Antalya Film Forum Awards will be revealed at a ceremony on October 4, 2022.
The 59th Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival is chaired by the Mayor of Antalya, Muhittin Böcek, and executive directed by Cansel Tuncer, while Ahmet Boyacıoğlu takes on the role of Festival director and Başak Emre of artistic director. The Antalya Film Forum is co-directed by Armağan Lale and Pınar Evrenosoğlu.
